Take A Cruise, Jazz Style

Guest post from: Mohamed Simon

One of my favorite things to do when the weather starts to break is to start looking for what events are going on New York's harbor. Imagine cruising along the Hudson River and seeing the Manhattan skyline at night while listening to some smooth jazz. This is done live, right on the ship.

Usually every Valentine's Day you can guarantee yourself some sort of Valentine's Day cruise event with a popular performer. Example for this year would be Phil Perry doing two different times while Dave Koz will be playing at the Best Buy Theater (formerly, the Nokia Theatre). There's also choices in the month of February fo! r the Winter Wine Festival or to see The Angela Bofill Experience in March. Angela usually is a returning artist (on the ship) but this year will be playing at B.B. King's. Others that have played on the ship include Pat Methany, Mindi Abair, Peter White and a host of others. The schedule varies year to year.

It's an easy way to get out for the whole day without it being too expensive. I usually start hunting down the events around October or November of the year before, book my plans and vacation days and once it gets here, grab my best clothes, set my home security alarm (ADT ALARM) and have no worries for the day. Just a good way to get the work week out of your system and relax.
